大约半个月没有用arcgis，现出现desktop不能使用的问题。

<P>问题发现是我不能打开以前的mxd文件，我只好重新做，第二天早上，也就是今天不能打开昨晚新的mxd。</P>
<P>我想看用ArcCatalog能不能预览，结果出现图中的错误</P>

<P>这是我在官方的技术支持上得到的帮助：</P><P>首先可以尝试重新注册esriGx.olb</P><P>To register esriGx.olb, do it at a command prompt while in the ArcObjects Devleoper Kit\Help folder.

(CD to ArcObjects Devleoper Kit\Help and then register)

C:\arcgis\arcexe81\ ArcObjects Devleoper Kit\Help> Regsvr32 esrigx.olb </P><P>如果还不行，只有进行以下操作</P><P>You may want to check your system settings to ensure that you have the properly allocated amounts:
Virtual Memory - Minimum 300MB
RAM - Minimum 128MB
Harddrive space - 1.5GB free

It is also possible that the .olb's mentioned have some how become corrupt, at which point you will want to reinstall ArcInfo 8.x with a cleanup switch:

1. Uninstall the existing installation of ArcInfo using control panel < add/remove programs
2. Remove the \arcexe80 and/or the \arcgis folder
3. Run the newGroundZero.exe attachment (Just copy it from the ftp site to your desktop and double click to run. Make sure it does not save as Shortcut to newGroundZero.exe)

4. Reboot when prompted
5. Place ArcInfo workstation disk in CD-ROM.
6. Cancel out of the auto-install window
7. Go to Start > run
8. Type the command ?CD-ROM drive letter>:\setup /cleanup?
9. Continue with normal installation procedure
10.Reboot and log back in with the same administrative privileges.
11.Install ArcInfo desktop CD with normal procedure (do not do a cleanup or newGroundZero with this CD)
12.Reboot and log back in with the same administrative privileges.

This procedure cleans up the environment variables and the registry allowing you to make a fresh and clean installation of ArcInfo 8.x.
